About the Five Daily Prayers (Salat)

Salat is the obligatory Muslim prayer, performed five times each day by Muslims. It is the second Pillar of Islam. These prayers are Fajr (dawn), Dhuhr (midday), Asr (afternoon), Maghrib (sunset), and Isha (night). Each prayer has a specific window of time in which it must be performed.

Observing Ramadan

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting (sawm), prayer, reflection, and community. The daily fast begins at dawn (before the Fajr prayer) and ends at sunset (with the Maghrib prayer).
